RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION AND PRODUCTION
Goal 12: The twelfth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG12 or Global Goal 12) relates to “responsible consumption and production”. It is one of the seventeen sustainable development goals set by the United Nations in 2015. The official wording of the twelfth goal is to “ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.” The twelfth goal seeks to ensure good use of resources, improve energy efficiency, sustain infrastructure, provide access to basic services, provide decent and environmentally friendly job opportunities and ensure a better quality of life for all. The twelfth goal includes eleven targets to be achieved by 2030 at least, and progress towards the goals is measured using thirteen indicators.
THE TARGET
"The objectives of the twelfth goal include using environmentally friendly production methods and reducing the amount of waste. National recycling rates, measured in tons of material recycled, should be increased by 2030. Additionally, companies must adopt sustainable practices and publish sustainability reports.
